This hub set contains both front and rear Magneto hubs.
The Magneto Cassette hub features a magnetic system engage using the force of two magnets that allows the ratchet ring to engage. The magnetic field provides an even repelling force which makes the ratchet to work completely straight and are created in a way that reduces friction compared to the use of springs. The Neomidium magnets we use maintain the magnetic field pretty much forever, as well. These properties creates the fastest, most reliable and durable system possible. Not to mention, a pretty unique and powerful noise…
The simplicity of the system is also great for customization. With ONLY ONE moving part, the assembly is as easy as it can get and reduces the overall weight significantly.
We are using heat treated CrMo caps instead of aluminum to be stiff and avoid wobble that can form over time and they are CNC machined outside and inside to achieve almost the same weight. The shell is made of a much stronger 7075 Aluminum and features the sunken spoke holes that we created with our Classic Front Hub. The driver, end caps and bolts use an anti-rust process that also gives the hub an awesome color finish.
Last but not least, we wanted this hub to be as good as it gets, so we are having them manufactured in Europe to achieve the best quality possible.
We are also excited to release the new Magneto Front Hub to match our new Magneto Cassette hub. We wanted the most reliable hub possible so we are using oversized bearings that allow us to use a strong 7075 Aluminum female axle as an option. The end caps and bolts use the same process and features as the Cassette hub and the hub is also compatible with our new rear hub guard.
Same as the Cassette hub, the magneto front hub is manufactured in Europe to achieve the best quality possible.
Final hub feature 10mm. / 3/8″ bolt on drive side with 14mm. OD section to fit the dropout.
Only works with dropouts 6mm. and thicker. For thinner dropouts, a 14mm. ID washer is required.
Female version not suitable for peg use on the drive side.
Magneto hubs feature thicker flanges for extra strength so we recommend spokes with wider J-bend.
Spokes with tighter J-bend also work but it requires to bend the spokes slightly when being laced. This might cause a cosmetic issue since it can mark the flange sometimes but once the wheel is tensioned it works perfectly.
